Returns and refunds policy
Returns and refunds policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
This policy applies to purchases made on ebenisterie-david.fr from Jérôme David / Ébénisterie David, also trading under the name Les Bouts de Bois de G.
General principle
Returns are accepted only in the cases provided for by law and under the conditions set out below. No item should be returned without prior contact.
For any return, withdrawal, exchange or refund request, the customer must contact Ébénisterie David through the Contact page or by email at contact@ebenisterie-david.fr. The request must state the order number, the customer’s name, the product concerned and the reason for the request. Where an item is damaged or not as ordered, photographs of the product, parcel and packaging may be requested.
Standard products in stock
For standard, non-personalised products sold online and available from stock, consumer customers have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal starting from receipt of the product. Where an order contains several products delivered separately, the period runs from receipt of the final product.
The returned product must be complete, clean, unused, unmodified, undamaged and properly protected for transport. A return may be refused if the product is received damaged, incomplete, used, scratched, soiled or in a condition that prevents normal resale.
Bespoke, personalised or made-to-order creations
The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised.
Accordingly, creations made on request, made to measure, personalised or adapted to the customer’s dimensions, constraints, aesthetic choices or specific instructions cannot be returned or refunded under the statutory right of withdrawal.
This includes, in particular: specific dimensions, a wood species specifically requested for a project, personalised engraving, personalised marquetry, adaptation to a particular use, a special order, a creation made specifically for the customer or a project approved by quotation.
This exclusion does not affect the customer’s rights where a product is not as ordered, where the business is responsible for an error or where a genuine defect is identified on receipt.
Return procedure
No return should be sent without prior approval. Once the request has been accepted, return instructions are provided to the customer.
The customer must send the product back no later than 14 days after communicating the decision to withdraw. Direct return costs are payable by the customer, except where the error is ours, the product is not as ordered or the product was damaged on receipt.
Return address after prior approval: Ébénisterie David – Les Bouts de Bois de G, 1D rue de Saint-Vit, 25170 Lavernay, France.
Refund
After the returned product has been received and inspected, the refund is made using the same payment method as the original order, unless otherwise agreed with the customer.
The refund is made no later than 14 days after the withdrawal request. For the sale of goods, the refund may be deferred until the product is recovered or proof of return shipment is received.
Original delivery charges are refunded on the basis of the standard delivery method offered when the order was placed. Additional costs arising from a more expensive delivery method selected by the customer are not refunded.
Damaged product, error or non-conformity
If a product arrives damaged or does not correspond to the order, the customer must contact Ébénisterie David as soon as possible through the Contact page or by email, enclosing photographs of the product, packaging and shipping label.
After review, an appropriate solution will be proposed according to the circumstances: repair, replacement, exchange, credit note or refund.
Specific features of handcrafted wooden creations
Products sold by Ébénisterie David / Les Bouts de Bois de G are handcrafted creations. Natural variations in wood, including differences in colour, grain, pattern, texture, shade or minor material characteristics, do not constitute a defect. They are part of the unique character of each creation.
